MODERNIZING VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION: COOPERATIVE WORKSHOP WITH EXPERTS FROM GERMANY AND AZERBAIJAN

On May 18, 2023 Azerbaijan in cooperation with BIWE, Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft and Festo Didactic from Germany organized a workshop in Baku for accelerating the introduction of new vocational and technical education methods in Azerbaijan. Lifelong learning and skills development for employees are absolutely critical to meeting industrial challenges. The recently held workshop gave an answer to the question why Germany’s Dual Education System is so successful and why it is a prototype for vocational training in many successful economies. It covered topics like the integration of Mixed Reality, which is the introduction of Virtual and Augmented Reality in vocational training. The experts demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence is used in industry and how Festo can support Azerbaijan in the preparation of WorldSkills, the international championships of vocational training. It was also impressive for the participants to see how the digital education Platform offers great opportunities for both, students and teachers.
